So, we’ve found out about Ant and my’s trip TO Vegas… It was a crazy 6 hours leading up to an unbelievable weekend! Now it’s time to learn about our days in Vegas!

If there’s anything Anthony and I do well, it’s waiting to get in to the Flamingo GO Pool. The trick is to get in line early. We are typically in line by 7:30am if the pool opens up at 9:00am. The Flamingo GO Pool is by far the best pool in Vegas. It is fun shaped, has a grotto, music entertainment, and good food/beverages. It gets crowded pretty fast. When we get in to line, there are usually 5-6 people in front of us (the crazies, who are in line for a pool before 7:30am)! By time the pool does open up, there has to be easily 100 people in line. Everyone wants the best spot! We eye out all of the chairs and find the one that will be in the shade the longest, quick jump to the water, and has the best view.

We got engaged in Vegas in 2015. Showing off my ring in line at the GO Pool.

Everyone thought we were silly for getting in line at 7:30am. We have it down. We get in line, then one of us gets out to get some pizza (yes, at 7:30am) and coffee. My sister, brother-in-law, and brother did not get our need to be in line so early. They just spent their morning dinking around the hotel. Come 9:00am Anthony and I had the best seats at the pool. Everyone came strolling in around 9:15/9:30am and couldn’t believe how busy the pool was. SEE, WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING!

We spent the next 5 hours sun bathing, getting up because we were too hot, ordering Miller Lite, sun bathing, going to the bathrooms, rolling off our wet bathing suits, peeing, then sunbathing some more, eating pool nachos, swimming, and drinking more Miller Lite. It’s funny, because you never see so many grown adults play together as you do when you are in a pool with inflatable beach items…. Inflatable balls, Corona bottles, and Corona cans. There was a game of hitting those back and fourth that went on for at least an hour. Everyone was amused by it. And I mean everyone!

This was the day of the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight. At the pool, we were blinded by so many pale, red-headed men with accents. I let them borrow my sunscreen a few times. Poor guys couldn’t handle the desert sun.

It was a big night for me because it was the official night of celebrating my birthday. We had a fancy dinner scheduled at Joe’s in Caesar’s Palace. When we left the pool we gave our selves a couple of hours to rest (after the morning of resting) and getting ready to go out to dinner for a night of fun. Anthony and I did not need to rest… We got ready and hit the casino. Of course, 100 Lions, was in need of a spin… or 20… Somehow Ant always wins big at 100 Lions. It is the go-to slot for him. After his big win (blah, of course!), we went to Margaritaville for our 5 cent beers. Conveniently, Ant’s favorite game is right next to Maragaritaville. Video Black Jack. Or as Ant calls it “Video Black Jack with my whores”. Please do not ever ask him how to play Black Jack. He doubles downs, splits, and folds like a wild man! But somehow, he always comes up on top. This man is the luckiest person I know (and not just because he married me).

We were cutting it close to our reservation at Joe’s. Caesar’s Palace is right across the street from The Flamingo, so you think it will be a quick walk there. But NOPE! It takes a good 10-15 minutes to get there… We always underestimate the time to get to places in Vegas. ALWAYS! All 5 of us looked fancy as hell. Ready for a night of ruling Vegas. But now, after that walk, we were all a little sweaty… Oh well, we were “glowing”.

Dinner was probably one of the best dinners I’ve had. Joe’s is know for their seafood. Since I was a couple of weeks off from our trip to Alaska, I was feeling the halibut for dinner. It was nothing compared to fresh fried Alaskan halibut, but still good. Anthony  had some sort of steak… I don’t really remember, but all I knew is everyone wished they got that steak because it looked so good. Before dinner came, our appetizers came… We got some delicious breads, the guys got oysters, and we all shared some King crab legs… OHHHHEMMMMGEEEEE. Those crab legs were to die for. Well worth the $$$ we spent on them. By time the meal was over, we have ate more money than I have ever spent at once (besides my car and house). But hey, we were in Vegas! We all counted on Ant making up the meal money in his luck in slots.

I’m guessing Ant just got done shooting an oyster.

While we were all dying from being so full, my sister had a surprise for me… She got us tickets to see BRITNEY SPEARS! Yes, the Britney Spears! My excitement could not be contained. The past year I fan-girled so hard.. I saw New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys (in Vegas in March of ’17), and now Britney Bitch! Ahh, the joys of being able to see your childhood favorites as an adult. In reality, they stars are so smart… The kids who wanted to see them when they were 13 but couldn’t because they didn’t have the money somehow turn in to adults and can spend MORE on a ticket now than they were priced in the early to mid 90’s. Genius!

We walked to Planet Hollywood. Of course, Ant had to get a quick slot in. He won over $500. Nice. Good for him.

My sister and I got inside Planet Hollywood AXIS theater, not without delay. She had the tickets on her mobile phone, but service wasn’t great in there… So it took a bit to pull up our tickets. I was getting antsy. I did not want to miss Britney!

I like to commemorate all my trips I go on with shot glasses (while all the breweries we go to we get stickers). These shot glasses will go above the bar that we don’t have in our basement.

Naturally, I had to get a Britney shot glass… Best $10 I spent all day.

Can’t pass up the merch table

Britney came on stage and we were so excited. We were screaming, dancing, singing enjoying everything she had to do. It was very obvious she was not singing, but I have to get her credit. She was dancing harder than I do in 20 minutes of Turbo Jam or WERQ. Britney can move! The only thing I was disappointed was that there was not a single “orginal” version of any of her songs… I just wished that Britney would have done a non-remixed song that we all knew and loved. But it was still AWESOME!

The concert was done. The boys were off doing JAM (Josh, Anthony, Mark) stuff the entire time. We just told them to be back at Axis by 11:00pm to meet us to continue our night. Turns out they “lost track of time”. We had to search the entire casino for them. It took us at least 20 minutes. We were starting to get mad! What is someone stole us!? They wouldn’t even notice!

We eventually found them at the “Video Black Jack Whores” where everyone was following Ant’s game plans… Turns out that the boys were there the entire time we were at the concert, with the exception of them getting my brother-in-law a big champagne bottle on a chain filled with overly sweet pina colada.

The night just begun. We were in Vegas, teaching my siblings how to Vegas. I don’t claim i’m a Vegas expert by any means, but Anthony and I sure do know how to have a good time. We spent a lot of time at Planet Hollywood. I even won $250 on a slot. In case you couldn’t tell, slots are my thing. I get “feelings” and know when to switch machines… sometimes. Ok. 1/10 times i’m right… The boys spent the rest of their time at Planet Hollywood with at the Video Black Jack table, while my sister and I wandered the casino.

This champagne bottle went everywhere with us the rest of the night.

The trick to being with Anthony and I in Vegas:

1- If you can’t find Anthony- find video black jack and he’ll be there with a Miller Lite.

2- If you can’t find me… keep looking… I bounce from slot to slot to slot to slot.

We left Planet Hollywood on a good note. We started venturing our way down the streets and learned that Mayweather won the fight. My brother, sister, and myself were slightly happy for our hometown boy, but were a little out of place rooting for him on the streets. We just kept our mouths shut and enjoyed the crazy shows around us. This was the most diverse crowd we have ever seen in Vegas, and quite frankly it was awesome. Everyone was happy having a great time, because they were in Vegas having a weekend for the record books. (BTW I think we all may have had a huge contact high just from walking the streets).

We got back to our homebase at the Flamingo and JAM went back to Video Black Jack. They are reckless and loud. But you know they were just having a great time. My sister and I wandered our way through the casino people watching. It was 1 am. You know there was some good people watching. Some interesting outfit choices to say the least.

See that guy there? He was only there for one round because JAM was so loud and reckless.

At about 3am we were ready to throw in the towel for the day. We had a 9am bungalow at the pool…. BUT FIRST we had to get pizza from the food court. I think between the 5 of us, we cleared them out of pizza. And stromboli. And breadsticks. Nothing better than carb-loading before you go to bed.

Ahhh, 4.5 hours of sleep and I’m refreshed for our final day in Vegas. We were all set to leave late that day. We headed our way to our to a bungalow! Yes, Anthony and my sister rented us a bungalow by the pool for the day! Fun fact: a bungalow on Sunday is about $2,000 cheaper than a bungalow on Saturday, but you still had to order at lease $200 worth of food/drinks, not including tips. We quickly hit that amount by ordering us a cooler of Miller Lite. At 9:00am. Hey! We have to live it up on our final day!

The gang in our bungalow at the GO Pool at the Flamingo.

We had a blast. If you can get a bungalow. Do it! Nothing better than having service, being able to get out of the sun, and laying on comfortable beds. It was such a hot day, that we had to turn on the mister… Then everything got wet. So we turned off the mister. And got hot/humid. Then we went in to the pool! The best cycle you could be in… while slightly hung over.

We were only in our bungalow until about 1:00pm when we decided it was time to leave and get our final lunch as a group and relive the past two days in conversation.

What we learned from our last few hours in Vegas together:

1- We all need to go back to Vegas together.

2- We all do Vegas great together.

3- Do not drink too much before you need to leave for the airport

4- Do not buy gifts for your children after you drank too much and need to leave for the airport (eh, hem… not naming any names)

Just a wild and crazy bunch who survived Vegas together.

So we all survived Vegas together. No one got arrested. No one got injured. We all went home tired, but happy.

Anthony and I challenge you to do Vegas with us.
